Introducing, The Kitten.
Some years ago I decided to get a kitten. I wasn’t sure how Pretty Kitty, my loyal feline friend, would take to having a new cat in the house since she is generally quite timid and also elderly. So I decided that a kitten would give her best chance of establishing her authority and give Pretty Kitty time to get used to them as they grow.
The Kitten Claims his New Home.

The Kitten was big from the start. Double the size of his litter mates at 8 weeks old, and very self assured. He quickly familiarised himself with his new home and Pretty Kitty observed from a safe distance.
This little fluff-ball was not content to stay in one room however, and within days had figured out how to navigate stairs and had the run of the house. When I was working he stayed with my parents where he also got up to plenty of mischief.

The Kitten rapidly identified how Pretty Kitty was getting in and out of the house and immediately tried to work out how to follow
Once he was introduced to the outside world he was addicted. He also grew bigger and stronger every day, working out how to get to more precarious places.
I know that controversy can arise regarding whether cats should live indoors or be allowed out. I come from a country and environment where letting cats roam is normal. So as soon as The Kitten reach four months of age I made the necessary vet appointment so he wouldn’t go around creating more crazy kittens, and let him loose!

The Kitten thrived on the outdoors and quickly made friends with my neighbours who kindly kept an eye on him. Before I knew it, The Kitten was one year old!

He continued to grow until the age of two, and now he is big enough to stand over Pretty Kitty without her needing to crouch down!
Despite a few accidents and injuries that knocked his confidence a bit, The Kitten continues to rule the roost whilst Pretty Kitty reluctantly accepts that he is part of the family now.
